Young and Old – Festive Fun!

This week festivities have been at an all-time high at BF Adventure. This year young people at BF Adventure decided that they wanted to give something back to their community; inviting elderly residents from a local charity based care home in Falmouth in for a piñata swinging, potato peeling Christmas dinner.

“Last month our young people were given the chance to invite a local community group of their choice in to celebrate Christmas and asked what they could do to make it an amazing day’ says Jadine from BF Adventure. ‘We had a lot of big, bright ideas from wave machines to obstacle courses in our new Adventure Barn. However, after the vote was cast, our young people agreed that they wanted to invite a local elderly home in, keep it simple and cook them a crackin’ Christmas dinner.”

Over the past few weeks young people who regularly attend BF Adventure have been wrapping, writing, calling and cooking to make sure that their guests have a very special day. ‘One young person has been a huge help with gathering resources’ says Jadine. “She has been calling local businesses with confidence and managed to secure 10kg of carrots, 40 minces pies, 7 chocolate yule logs and a beautiful hamper of fruit. Another bought in his own ingredients, making homemade mince pies for the mix.” BF would like to say a massive thank you to West Country Fruit and Veg and ASDA for the donations received. Also, a big shout out to Inside Out Living for their generous contribution towards this special day!

Yesterday, festivities were in full swing as youngsters poured, presented and plated, drinks, dinners and desserts for their guests. After a two-course meal, celebrations ramped up with a head spinning game of piñata, packets of pass the parcels and party games.

At the end of the day, laughter filled the air and sweets and smiles were shared. Thank you to all who attended, decorated and delivered a down right, dazzling day.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and an Adventurous New Year!
