Adventure with us!

Based here on our gorgeous Penryn site, our Social Enterprise Via Ferrata Cornwall provides adventures offering so much more than just an adrenaline rush: the chance to conquer fears, make amazing memories, feel a sense of achievement and most importantly, have fun! The best bit? ALL their profits support BF Adventure – and the children we support get to take on the adventures and overcome their own fears too. Win-win!

Via Ferrata Cornwall is award-winning and open to everyone, all year round. There’s something for all ages and in all weathers – come join us!

“A definite recommend for anyone visiting Cornwall! We went as a family…every aspect of the experience was excellent.

I’m neither good with heights, balance or agility, and was pretty nervous before doing it but the boys love this sort of thing, so stepped fully out of my comfort zone… and glad I did! The staff were really friendly. We had Scott as our group leader on the Via Ferrata and he was brilliant with the boys.”

Our Social Impact

We support some of Cornwall’s most vulnerable children and young people facing challenges from learning or physical disabilities to mental ill health, trauma from abuse and more. Using our 65-acre outdoor site, we engage them in activities designed to build confidence, resilience and skills, whilst inspiring a love for learning.

Activities include zip-lining, watersports, climbing and more. We’re seeing our Young People have real breakthroughs in self-belief whilst overcoming their emotional, social and physical barriers.

“My favourite experience was cooking for large groups… I was proud of myself for completing the water adventure with the cliff jumping.”

Will’s Story

Will was struggling to access mainstream education. He had low self-esteem and walked out of school on several occasions. He was taken into care and was coming to terms with being away from the family home. Whilst at BF, Will really enjoyed cooking and completed his BF cooking awards. He also learned to be a great team player by spending lots of time playing sports with his peers, and developed a real strength for making sure everyone was included in the game. He was really respected and valued by his peers.

Will’s instructor said: “I loved seeing Will’s confidence grow… in the kitchen, on the football pitch, and in our sessions as a whole.”
