Our recent Charity abseil off the 95ft Maritime museum was a huge success for BF Adventure and an incredible achievement for some of the youngsters that turned up. A huge respect to the team from Active8 whom were inspirational and had the biggest smiles afterwards that we’ve ever seen!
Active8 is a project that aims to empower and motivate young people with physical disabilities in Cornwall to become autonomous adults, by developing their skills, confidence, support structures and aspirations.
Matt Stewart, Active8 youth worker said “All the young people enjoyed the day and there was a good turnout of supporters. It seemed that the parents of the young people abseiling where far more nervous than the young people themselves!”
Tom 18 from Active8 did the abseil and said “it was great, so glad that I did it”

BF Adventure is a charity organisation and all its profit goes towards helping hundreds of disadvantaged and disabled children and adults in Cornwall. This recent abseil profit will go towards the #bigkitchenbuild project. This project will teach valuable life skills starting with the basics of looking after ones-self, making a hot drink, washing up, washing clothes and preparing a meal. We plan to take this one step further developing a highly effective programme which supports entrepreneurial skills in the Kitchen. We will teach young people to plan a menu, take orders from the team, write a shopping list, manage their budget, prepare, cook and serve the meal and even collect the bill reconciling monies taken. All donation profit will go back into the BF charity tin which further supports the work we do.
Due to a lack of funding and grant opportunities we are having to fund this project ourselves. If you would like to find out how to help us in our quest for building materials, specialist contractors and volunteers or you would just like to make a donation please click here, every donation helps!
Thanks to everyone whom supported our fundraising Abseil down the Maritime Museum Tower, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
