Penryn Town Council supports BF Adventure in funding new tents
BF Adventure was delighted to have a visit from the Mayor of Penryn, Councillor Mark Snowdon this week. The charity was awarded £500 by the Penryn Town Council to go towards their tent fleet for this summer’s groups, local young people and groups with higher support needs to enjoy an outdoor camping experience on the beautiful 60 acre site.
BF Adventure supports young people that are not in education or employment, at risk of expulsion or have higher support needs. Many of these young people receive support and guidance by the highly trained staff who introduce young people to new experiences and the outdoors, which often leads to overnight stays. Hundreds of young people from Cornwall, many of whom reside in the Penryn area, can now take advantage of the new facilities provided by the Penryn Town Council.
Penryn Town Council says: ‘The Town Council has the greatest respect for the work that BF Adventure does at the centre and we are pleased we could support the charity again this year.’
Adrian Richards CEO: ‘We fully appreciate the contribution towards the work we do, the grant will make a significant difference to the quality of facilities and the experience we can offer to the hundreds of Cornish young people (many of whom reside within the Penryn area) of whom a large number face severe neglect and multiple disadvantage that will stay with us this coming summer. It is great to have the opportunity to thank the Mayor personally and show him where the grant will be invested.’
