Christmas lunch at Poldark Mine
Last week on Thursday BF Adventure was invited by the Rotary Club of Cober Valley to discover Poldark Mine and enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch afterwards.
20 current and former BFA students attended. The group was welcomed by the Rotarians with juice and mince pies and we then had a guided tour to explore the mine.
Everyone had to put on helmets and we climbed down the steep metal steps to 125 metres below ground....click here to read more.

We are happy to announce the winner of this year's Christmas card competition. Bethany is 11 and
came to our centre for a short break in Summer.
She has won a family activity day at BF.

£5 activity days
for youth groups
After last year's success BF Adventure has again
been able to secure funding through the West Cornwall Youth Trust which will enable us to offer
multi-activity days for youth clubs and groups at only £5 per person.
Eligible to benefit from this special offer are groups of young people (excluding statutory education) who are 10 - 21 years old, live west of St. Austell to Newquay, including the Isles of Scilly and meet at least one of the following criterias:
- Underprivileged
- Seriously financially constrained
- Socially disadvantaged
- Disabled

More than 100 children
take part in funded Short
Breaks
More than 100 children and young people with disabilities have come to our centre during the Summer holidays and October Half term to join us on our short break programme. What a record number!
The activity days funded by Aiming High for disabled children were held as family days, within peer groups or formed part of our holiday activities helping participants to have a respite break, trying something new, pushing their boundaries and gaining more confidence.
We can't count the number of fantastic Thank you cards and letters we have received.

Winter warmer offer
£12 multi-days for schools & youth clubs
After last year's success we have again been able to secure funding to support schools and youth clubs in making outdoor education more affordable!
From November to March 2012 we will offer schools and youth clubs our multi-activity days for only £12 per student. Subject to availability we will also be able to offer free transport for certain localities.

Inspiring movie
The first three groups of our new E&E programme have just succesfully completed their course.
The 6 week programme for 14 - 19 olds is desigend to help participants increase their confidence and develop important life skills whilst working on individual projects using their social entrepreneurial skills and giving something back to the community.
One of the groups chose to make a movie about their progress whilst on the programme
to inspire other young people to take part in similar programmes.
