Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! (April 2010)

Over the past few months BF Adventure has been very lucky to receive some fantastic support from the community. Falmouth Rugby Club has just choosen us as their charity of the year. Working with the club provides many opportunities for both parties and we are looking forward to a great partnership.

Another big 'thank you' goes to "Wild Things" a local manufacturer and supplier of watersports equipment who kindly donated their 1000th kayak to us. Owner, Kevin Andreissen, has worked with BF Adventure for many years and is a great supporter of our charity programmes. We would also like to thank Lindsay Philip for her amazing donation of pc's and office furniture which has enabled us to set up a computer room which wll be used by clients to research job and training opportunities.

And last but not least we would like to thank the Falmouth Marine Band who's contribution will make it possible for us to buy urgently needed water-proof clothing for our young customers.

Reindeer-handling and soap-making (March 2010)

Our E2E (Entry to Employment) recently went to Trevarno Gardens for a work experience day to learn about the rather unusual day-to-day goings-on at the historic grounds.

The group spent the day working alongside friendly and supportive staff members to find out what it takes to care for a herd of wild reindeer, make your own organic cosmetics or to support the garden team with their forestry work.

The day was hosted by corporate partner, Trevarno, in support of BF Adventure. The E2E group had a great day and gained valuable experience that will help them in future training or job roles.

Would you like to learn Rock climbing? (February 2010)

Starting on Saturday 13th March we will offer rock climbing courses for beginners and intermediate climbers.

In 6 weekly sessions we will give you a practical insight into rock climbing, rope management and different climbing styles. The course will be held partly at our Outdoor activity centre but will also give you the opportunity to practice your newly gained skills at the Cheese Wring (or equivalent).

Saturday Club for Children (February 2010)

Our holiday activity days have been so successful in the past year that we have now decided to make it a regular event. The 'Saturday Club for Children' will take place every first Saturday of the month (excluding school holidays) and will have different exciting themes such as Survival skills, Water challenge or a Beach Safari in Summer. A fun day out for your kids and some extra time for you to go shopping, catch up with friends or just relax.

Please click here to see the leaflet or contact us for further information and to book your place.

Christmas dinner for all our core clients (December 2009)

Every year in the week leading up to Christmas we organise a Christmas dinner for all our core clients. In December we were lucky enough to have ingredients for the meals donated by ASDA and also received some lovely presents through the Pirate FM Toy appeal. Some of our clients might not have positive Christmas experiences due to poverty or their family situation.

Being able to have a Christmas dinner with our young clients and surprise them with presents made it a very special day for them and for us!
