Kitchen build is flying!

The foundations are almost down and the kitchen build is surging forward at rate of knots! The last week has seen the trench blocks laid by JDS Property and Development Ltd., first pour of the concrete generously donated at cost price by Bardon Concrete and more builders sand donated by H. Dunstan Ltd. Luckily the damp proof membrane donated by Travis Perkins, was put in place just before the storms at the end of the week. The final piece of the jigsaw for the foundation slab was the metal reinforcing sheet which was kindly donated by Devoran Metals Ltd. A last minute additional soak away needed for the donated Timber frame, led the team into a frenzy of activity trying to attain pea gravel and extra trench blocks with out having any extra cash! The team came up trumps and a huge thank you goes to Roy Broad who donated the pea gravel and Jewson who provided the extra trench blocks at cost price. We even had a cash donation to cover the cost price of the extra blocks! Craig from Truro Timber Frames Ltd. arrived at the end of the week to liaise with JDS regarding the timber frame. Truro Timber Frames Ltd. are donating the timber frame to #bigkitchenbuild they are also now offering to supply and fit fascias and soffits AND potentially install NEXT Friday! This means we might have the roof on before August! We now need to get cracking and find the remaining materials and trade support to complete the build – we’ll need timber cladding, flooring, insulation plus assorted bits, can you help? All donations however small appreciated.
