Freestyle (fully funded)

Ideal for

Freestyle student doing archeryYoung people who would like to have the opportunity to try something new in a supportive environment. This two-day programme is for young people aged 14 – 19 that are 'not in education, employment or training' (NEET) or are at risk of 'disengaging'.

The course aims to encourage participants to have fun and develop important life skills such as:

  • Confidence
  • Team work
  • Communication
  • Leadership

When

This programme runs year round 9.30am – 3.30pm – check with programme manager for current days.

Each participant will attend for either one or two days per week for between 6 and 12 weeks. Young people will complete individual learner plans, have regular reviews and will be supported to look at positive exit plans back into education or training.

Young people will contribute to the design of their programmes and be expected to show progression through accredited and non accredited outcomes.

  • Budgeting
  • Risk assessment
  • Cooking
  • Careers and positive progression options
  • Planning projects and activities.

Referral Process

Individuals or full groups (up to 8 people) can be referred to us by schools, colleges, youth workers or connexions advisors. Referrers will need to complete referral and eligibility forms. Each application is assessed by the county brokerage team and young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) may be asked to attend a local LIFT centre for IAG and basic skills assessments before attending our programme.

Transport

We will support transport needs with mini bus pick-ups and payment of public transport costs where possible.
