Adventure Ed

‘Adventure Ed’ is a new accredited programme featuring a Level 1 certificate in Progression, Maths & English and other outdoor industry qualifications.  The course will be creatively delivered using our 60 acre site near Penryn and will run for up to three days a week.  Meaningful work experience placements will also be arranged as part of the course.

It is designed for any young people aged 16-18 years wanting to gain life skills, a qualification and work experience, but will particularly benefit those wanting to work in the outdoor and youth work sectors.  The programme will give young people the opportunity to feed into our popular apprenticeship programme this coming September, which is now in its third successful year.  The programme will therefore combine learning in a fun and learner-led environment, with real world experience of recruitment processes and employment.

Young people will achieve their qualifications whilst taking part in group activities such as:

  • Kayaking
  • Climbing
  • Quarrysteering
  • Canoeing
  • Forest School & Bushcraft
  • Archery

In addition, young people will receive 1:1 sessions and support throughout to provide IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) as required, review development needs as well as exploring progression options and planning.

Transport will be provided from cluster pickup areas to include – Camborne, Pool and Redruth, and Truro, Penryn and Falmouth.

If you are interested in this programme or know anyone that would be, please feel free to give Rachael Stephens a call on 01326 340912 or email to discuss the best way to move forward. We can offer a range of engagement options to include a meeting, site tour and/or taster day ahead of the course start.
