Skills for Work

The Skills for Work department run a number of projects offering tailored provision to individuals and small groups of young people.

Programme of Study

BF Adventure are excited to be running a Programme of Study with cohorts starting in September and January, for young people aged 16 – 18 who are not in education or employment.  The course delivers a Level 1 Certificate in Progression tailored towards the outdoor industry and skills for employment.  Learners will undertake functional skills qualifications in Maths and English alongside the course, as well as taking part in a work experience placement.  This year’s cohort have also taken part in a residential in the New Forest which is an opportunity we are hoping to continue offering to future learners. 180 Keywork

Rachael Stephens is the keyworker in the West of Cornwall, for young people aged 16 – 19 who are currently NEET.  We will meet, on a 1:1 basis, with any young person who is interested in engaging with one of the 180 providers. We can help them to identify appropriate provision and set realistic goals for progression.  We will act as a key worker for each individual, liaising with the 180 providers and other organisations to place them on appropriate programmes.  Throughout their provision, we will remain in contact to support any transitions or overcome barriers as well as tracking outcomes and achievement.
